Good Enough

This draw was good enough to ensure that Newcastle won Group D, therefore avoiding the Champions League "drop-outs" in the last 32.

First Half

The foul by Bramble on Liésdon desrvedly earned him a yellow card but the disgusting play-acting antics of the striker were a bitter joke to everyone inside St James's Park. However, the referee chose to ignore this and in his indignation Ameobi threw the ball away in disgust, thus earning himself a yellow too.
