Newcastle United Football Club

Howay the Lads

Welcome to toon1892.com

The history of Newcastle United Football Club is a long and proud one. Admittedly with some decidedly low points. Formed by a merger between Newcastle East End and Newcastle West End they become 'United' in 1892. This site, toon1892.com, catalogues that proud history.

Therefore, within these pages, you will find the records and statistics of all the competitive games, (and a growing number of non-competive games too), all the managers and all the players of Newcastle United Football Club. Which basically means, you have all the games, all the players, all the managers, all the goals, and everything that goes inbetween…

Overview of every player who has appeared in a First Team for Newcastle, providing, in a fully searchable, sortable and filterable list, their appearance data, goalscoring statistics, and other details. Each entry links to the full and complete record for the player.

Managers

There is no doubt that Newcastle have had some quite good managers over the years, though there has been a fair share of ones you would rather forget as well.

There's been the great (in my opinion) names like Joe Harvey, Bobby Robson, Kevin Keegan, then there's been the steady ones like Arthur Cox, Jim Smith, Willie McFaul, etc.

Then there's those that I would quite happily forget, for whatever reason like Allardyce, Gullitt, Lee, Dinnis, etc. Then of course there are those from before my time which brought us League and cup success.

So, whether good, bad, indifferent, or before your time, they have been here and so their record is here as well. You'll find all their results by overall totals and by competition also. You never know you may surprise yourself to find out that your favourite manager was better or worse than you thought by comparison with others.

toon1892.com was created out of my passion for Newcastle United Football Club and it's history. I created the website purely for my own use on my home computer. However, I was persuaded to 'publish' it online and make it available to all. In doing so I wanted to avoid annoying and/or intrusive advertising wherever possible, yet still keep it free at the point of use and ultimately keeping it as a 'not for profit' exercise.

Unfortunately, as you may well imagine, maintaining a site without funding, or any revenue stream at all, is very difficult. Thus, an idea of authoring books and making Newcastle United related products was embarked upon, this in an attempt to alliviate my expenditure. Whilst I appreciate not everyone wants, nor can afford, such items, it would be certainly helpful if you could find a way to make a purchase, perhaps as a gift for a loved one.

Should this not be an option for you then please still enjoy the site. You can also help by sending me comments - either on the site in general, or on any specific players, managers, games that you can. You can also support me by sharing the site with all your friends and family.

I look forward to receiving your support, in any way you can provide it.
