|Ronald Campbell Simpson|
0-1John Milburn. White won a corner on the right, knocking the ball out from a defender's legs on the by-line. Taking it himself he delivered it to Milburn who had moved into space seven yards out in-line with the near post where he powered in an unchallenged header.
1-1Johnstone. After some good play by City there was an interchange of passes between Johnstone and Hayes before the latter lofted a ball across the penalty area for Johnstone to take a flying header and put it beyond Simpson from 10 yards out.
1-2Robert Mitchell. White put a high ball across the penalty area. When a defender failed to clear, it fell about a yard behind him to Mitchell. Taking a touch he moved forward and powered a low drive from an increasingly acute angle under the dive of Trautmann.
1-3George Hannah. Scoular passed to Mitchell on the left. Reaching the box he turned a defender inside-out and nearing the by-line, a yard from the post, he hooked it across the box. Trautmann got both hands to it but only pushed it to Hannah who scored with a half-volley.
