Points on the Board!

Newcastle finally get their first points on the board this season, and their first league goals as well. After a 'mini' disaster saw them losing their first three games of the season, the last of which saw them fall at the first hurdle in the League Cup to 'lower division' opposition (again) we can look forward to a period of contemplation during the international break with a win at our back.

Mato (Joselu), in making his first start for club, opened the scoring in the first half, Clark scored midway through the second half and substitute Mitrovic sealed the win with four minutes to go, though in reality the game had long been over as a contest. Whilst Newcastle thoroughly deserved the win it was against a poor West Ham who where also without a league win and are sitting rock bottom of the table. All this amidst the strong rumors that Newcastle boss Benitiz is leaving to take Slaven Bilic's job at West Ham! You couldn't actually make this up could you!
